MAD Scholarship
Masterman Art & Design
MAD Scholarship is an art competition that was "established with the intention of providing students with an artist residency mentoring opportunity in Brisbane, Australia." This is a 2017 scholarship provided by past art facilitator at Liger Leadership Academy, Jo Masterman. The theme of the competition was the "Inner Me."
The requirements of the competition was to create four artworks that reveal your artistic techniques and to write a 400-500 word paragraph about each piece. At that time, during the competition, I submitted four different artworks which showed my drawing&sketching, water color painting, sculpting, and mixed-media art skills.
Surprisingly, I won the competition along with my friend, Soliday Yon!! We went and stayed in Australia for three weeks. During the time we spent there, we received the opportunities to explore the city, Brisbane, go to many professionally-trained art classes, meet new people, and experience new culture.
